MedSafetyWeek 2025 is a global medicine safety awareness campaign led by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC), with national participation from pharmacovigilance stakeholders.

In Nigeria, IntraHub Africa joins the movement with a national awareness drive themed:

“Be the Link: Everyone has a role to play in making medicines safer.”

The campaign highlights the vital role every individual — from healthcare professionals to patients — plays in identifying, reporting, and preventing adverse drug reactions (ADRs).

Through digital storytelling, videos, carousels, and social engagement, the Be the Link campaign encourages Nigerians to take pride in medicine safety by reporting side effects and promoting responsible medicine use.

The initiative also features the #ReportAndProtect Challenge, inviting healthcare professionals and the public to share their commitment by uploading their photos with the caption “I am the link to medicine safety” and tagging @IntraHubAfrica using #BeTheLink and #MedSafetyWeek2025.

Together, we aim to strengthen a culture of vigilance, collaboration, and shared responsibility in making medicines safer for everyone.
