SME Agribusiness Export Readiness Accelerator Training Programme for West Africa

DESCRIPTION

The SME Agribusiness Export Readiness Accelerator Training Programme is a flagship programme organised by the Africa Leadership Foundation (ALF) in partnership with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank)

  • The rationale for the SME Agribusiness Export Readiness Training stems from the need to bridge the gap between the current capabilities of African agribusiness SMEs and the requirements of international markets. It aligns with Afreximbank’s Plan VI Strategy—Extending the Frontiers (2022-2026), which focuses on promoting intra-African trade, industrialisation, and export development

Building on the success of the inaugural training in 2023, this year, 2024, the training has been expanded to reach 13 West African countries, including Nigeria, to equip the participating SMEs with entrepreneurial knowledge and export-readiness skills, provide business development services and guide them in developing an export roadmap (Export Market Integration Plan) and become major players in the Global Value Chains (GVCs).
