The Pentecostal Young Vessels is the Youth Fellowship arm of the Christian Pentecostal Mission, Iyana Ipaja Branch. Saddled with the responsibility of young people's affairs, one of our core desires is to extend a hand of love in meeting the physical and health needs of communities within our sphere of influence.

This journey started in 2019 when we embarked on our maiden one-day free Rural Medical Outreach in a small town in Imose community, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State. It's about 10 minutes drive from Igando, Lagos via ferry. The impact was monumental. The community came out in their numbers including children and the aged. We attended to over 300 persons with the help of 4 Medical Doctors and 4 nurses, and other auxiliary health workers. We gave out drugs on prescriptions, free clothing, and books.

In 2020, despite the Covid, we were able to reach out again, this time, we visited Seme Border, a settlement in Nigeria on the border with Benin Republic, thirty minutes drive from Badagry on the coastal road between Lagos and Cotonou. While we observed the Covid protocols, we made significant progress. With the help of 4 Medical doctors and 4 nurses, we were able to reach out to over 250 persons in that community. Clothing and drugs were given to the attendees.

2021 was not left out, our train advanced towards Awoyaya, a residential area in Ibeju Lekki, a few minutes away from Ajah, Lagos. We were able to reach out to over 200 people in that community with Medical aids, clothing, and shoes.

This year, we intend to extend our hands of fellowship to the residents of Makoko, Lagos State.  Makoko is a neighbouring community to Iwaya on the waterfront and Oko Baba. The people lack essential basic social facilities, like schools, drinking water, and inadequate liquid and solid waste management. They also lack hospitals, good structures, are unemployed, among other societal ills and overcrowding worsens these issues.

 During the program, we intend to offer free medical consultations and as well as treat common ailments among them. We will also give a health talk promoting hygiene, and sexual and public health among them. We also would be distributing insecticide-treated mosquito nets, oral rehydration salts, and water guards.
