The Art for Advocacy Poetry Event 2024 is a gathering designed to celebrate the intersection of art and activism in addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and amplifying women’s voices. Organized by the Lex Initiative for Rights Advocacy and Development (LIRAD), the event focuses on “Feminist Artivism: Her Story, Her Way.” It aims to create a platform for marginalised women to share their personal stories, experiences, and resilience through poetry and other art forms, encouraging open dialogue, healing, and collective action.

Through carefully curated poetry performances, a thought-provoking panel discussion, and an accompanying art exhibition, attendees will witness how creative expression can challenge societal norms, inspire empathy, and push for gender justice. The concept emphasizes intersectionality, ensuring that all women are fully represented and included.

Ultimately, the event seeks to foster community building, highlight innovative strategies for advocacy, and demonstrate how art can serve as both a means of empowerment and a catalyst for lasting social change.
