The burden
In 2017 I came across a Christmas movie. I noticed that in what was supposed to be a Christmas movie, the name of Christ or Jesus was mentioned in the entire movie. I also observed that there was nothing in the movie that depicts the life of Christ.
Then I started observing and asking questions. It was surprising what I found, that when you mention Christmas, the first thing that comes to people’s minds will be food, new clothes, family hangout/reunion, Father Christmas, Christmas tree, or jingle bells, etc. These things in themselves are not bad, but they are gradually replacing the true essence of Christmas. They are becoming the center message instead of Christ.
It is also not surprising that artists who neither recognizes the Lordship of Christ nor even believe in him can be bold enough to do a Christmas song. These songs have anything to do with Christ and have contents directly against Christ's principles and values.
These and many others lead us to start thinking, "what can we do to make the world know the center of Christmas again?" the question became and burden and that burden translated into Keep Christ in Christmas Campaign.
It started as just an online campaign in 2018, but it expands and becomes what it is today by God's special grace. We have added daily bible reading challenge, daily prayer to enforce righteousness on earth, and orphanage, hospital, and prison outreaches to different parts of Nigeria.
Now, the social media campaign is very core to K3C goals. We believe that people’s thoughts are shaped and molded online. So, we must use that platform to communicate the true essence of Christmas. That is why we are counting on you to use this banner on all your social media platforms. To find out about other things we do, please visit k3c.churchmades.com.
