KapTalks Lagos
The Kapuscinski Development Lecture series, also known as #KAPTalks, named for Ryszard Kapuscinski, a Polish journalist and writer, is organized jointly by the European Commission, theUnited Nations Development Programme and a network of partner universities and think tanks.โThe lecture series offers students an unprecedented opportunity to learn about and discuss development issues such as climate change, economics, energy transition, aid effectiveness, Europe-Africa relations and the Sustainable Development Goals.โIt connects students with top thinkers and raises their awareness of international cooperation and partnerships, and global challenges. It offers students a unique opportunity to connect and debate with world-renowned experts and the host institution will become a part of the global #KapTalks networkโAfrica is home to the worldโs youngest population, with over 60% of its population under the age of 25. By 2050, the continentโs youth population is projected to double, reaching nearly 1 billion, making Africa a global hub of youthful potential.โThis demographic shift presents a unique opportunity for economic transformation, as a skilled and empowered youth population can drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. However, without adequate investment in education, employment, and empowerment, this demographic dividend risks becoming a challenge, exacerbating issues like unemployment and social unrest.โJoin us at #KapTalksLagos 2025 at the University of Lagos as we dissect the means to harness the potentials of the next generation!โ#KapTalksLagos #KapTalks2025 #KapTalksUnilag
